Raise the Bar/Aiming for Gold

'AIMING FOR GOLD' AND 'RAISE THE BAR'
Each year for our Games Convention I design a 'fun' multi-player game, just for the Convention, with no thought of publishing it. However, the games designed for the last two Conventions seemed to have gone down well and with a few adjustments based on comments made by the users (my loyal ‘play-testers!) I thought it might be worth lumping the two together and asking 'Owzat Games to market them in one package.
'Aiming for Gold' is loosely based on archery using dice to simulate the'Aim'and 'Release and Flight' phases separately. It's always a windy day for this one, and a cross-wind at that, so each arrow (ten per 'Quiver') needs to be judged differently. Quite a fun game, best played with four players or more but capable of face-to-face play and you can even practice solo !
'Raise the Bar' is all about the high jump, quite a detailed simulation but strictly non-replay, with a few critical decisions to make and lots of tactics. Best with 4 or more, the more the better in fact, but in this one some knowledge of or interest in athletics might be useful.
Both are good games for a quiet corner of the pub, both can be used for a bit of gentle betting if that's what rings your bell, both have enough 'luck' about them to be capable of playing in mixed (i.e. varying games-playing ability) company, but over a few games the more skillful players will win more often than not.
